Well, the voting was
the
closest it's ever been this month, were
offered for voting in the Vote for Show
2.4 thread on the message boards. In a vote that went down to
the wire, Toronto beat Charleston by only ONE vote. However, since
it was so close, and both shows are worthy, I have decided to again
do a double download for the show 2.4.
Speaking of voting, I'll
make my monthly request, so here it is: if you haven't
yet registered for the
4thellamas.com message board, please do so now. After you do, go to
the downloads thread and
post some
feedback on this show, and then take a moment to
vote for the
download you would like to see released in June. Please try
to vote by the 27th. After you've voted, you can
post a request
for a future download. Remember, this site will be as good as
you help make it!
So, the first show
might be out there a bit, but it's from that stellar 1994 tour that
produced the
200 More Miles CD, the band's first official release. 1994 is
still probably my favorite year, even though the albums to come
produced even better material. However they were a little rawer back
then, and some of my favorite songs, like "Ring on the Sill," got
lots of plays.
The recording I
have is an audience, but still sounds quite good.

AND NOW, for show
2.4b!!! After 1994, this is the tour that I have the most affection
for, because in February I drove to St. Louis to see the band at
Mississippi Nights on Valentine's Day. They were on fire that night,
and driving back through the plains of Kansas I got the idea for
trying to make sure all these excellent shows got taped, which has
led to this website!
This show from the
Winter Waltz has some great performances. Margo alludes to being a
little tired, and something about Disneyland, but I feel that the
music shines regardless.
So pull up a
chair, spend a night downloading these two shows, and then listen,
and celebrate the first year anniversary of 4thellamas.com. And if
