From the new to
the old. After choosing something from the most recent tour in
February, we return to the older tours, to the Miles From Our Home
tour, for this gem from the Flynn Theater.

The "Miles From
Our Home" album always intrigues me. It's not one I pull out to
listen to often. I think it is in some ways uneven. There's some
great stuff on it, like "No Birds Today." The title track is a great
pop song, but nothing really special, for all that.
The show itself
has some great moments. It opens with an understated "Sun Comes Up,
It's Tuesday Morning," then heads off into the long jam of "Blue
Guitar." Listen for Margo's interesting dedication on "Misguided
Angel."
There's also a lot
of quiet material in this show, giving it an interesting pace.
"Bea's Song" and and an acoustic "Something More Besides You" and of
course, "No Birds Today."
1998 had some
interesting moments, and I think this is definitely one of them!
